On 13 June 2018, Ms. Jiao Yani,
Secretary-General of CIETAC Shanghai Sub-Commission, was invited to attend the
Graduation Ceremony of East China University of Political Science and Law
Lawyers Institute (ECUPL Lawyers Institute). Jiao signed a Cooperation
Agreement with ECUPL Lawyers Institute on behalf of CIETAC Shanghai
Sub-Commission. CIETAC Shanghai Sub-Commission will be the Teaching Practice
Base and Law Research Base of ECUPL Lawyers Institute. The two sides will
establish long-term collaboration, organizing academic exchanges, discussing
problems with legal research and arbitration practice, and jointly training the
younger generation of Chinese arbitration.
In her speech after the signing of the
cooperation agreement, Jiao first expressed her good wishes to the new graduates
of the ECUPL Lawyers Institute, and then briefed about CIETAC and its Shanghai
Sub-Commission. She pointed out that as the leading arbitration institution in
China and an internationally renowned Chinese arbitration institution, CIETAC
regarded internationalization and professionalization as its development goal.
CIETAC paid high attention to the cooperation and exchanges with universities
and to the promotion of arbitration education for young students. With the
establishment of the Teaching Practice Base and Research Base, CIETAC hopes
that more college students know about the development of Chinese and
international arbitration, be more willing to learn arbitration and practice
arbitration, and devote their efforts to the development in the theory research
and practice of arbitration.
Over 100 attendants including leaders and
students of ECUPL Lawyers Institute witnessed the signing of the cooperation
agreement, and the leaders included Chen Jingying, Vice President of ECUPL, Liu
Dali and Qiao Junwen, Honorary Deans of ECUPL Lawyers Institute, and Ding
Shaokuan, Dean of ECUPL Lawyers Institute.
